Weather
Andalusia in general and Granada in particular is an all year holiday destination. Normally, temperatures on winterdays range between 13 to 23 degrees – perfect for outdoor activities!
Climbing
Climbing starts on the rock wall in our garden and there is unlimited awesome climbing around Granada. More than 2.100 routes! Areas include Cogollos (5 minute walk), Alfacar (10 minute drive), Los Cahorros, Loja, Moclin and Los Vados (close to the beach),and many more areas near Jaen and Malaga.
Mountainbiking
The hilly area around Granada, with its amazing views, is perfect for mountain-biking. Around and throughout the Sierra Nevada you can enjoy hundreds of great trails. Bring your own bike or rent one nearby. The first trail starts at our house!
Hiking
Welcome to hikers paradise! The area around Granada is blessed with plenty of wonderful hikes from easy afternoon walks, starting in front of the hostel, to high alpine hikes in the Sierra Nevada.
Sierra Nevada
The Sierra Nevada is the highest mountain range on Spain mainland with up to 3.482 m (Mulhacén). Besides amazing views it offers a lot of possibilities, like summer and winter hiking, mountainbiking, skiing and mountaineering, even some ice climbing.
Canyoning
There are amazing canyoning opportunities in the barrancos around Granada. You can find everything from easy and short routes to advanced trails that will test your limits.
Beaches
The Costa Tropical on the Mediterranean is about one hour drive away from the hostel. It`s a nice opportunity to relax in the sun and, even on some winter days, take a dip in the sea. Or, have a beer in one of the chiringuitos (beach bars).
Water sports
Although Granada itself is known for mountains and rocks, there are also many options to enjoy water sport activities. Like surfing, scuba diving, windsurfing and kiting, at the Mediterranean and lakes nearby.
Location
The climbing hostel is located at the entrance of the Sierra de Huetor, in Cogollos Vega, a small village about 20 Minutes north of Granada.
Outdoor activities start directly at our hostel – for example, the “Peñon de la Mata” hike leading to Cogollos` highest mountain. From the terrace you can see many mountain bikers passing by everyday on their way to the natural park. Not to mention, the huge climbing sector around the corner 😉
Hostel
What to say about the hostel? It`s just the perfect place for outdoor lovers and climbers like us! And, for everybody who is not a fan of normal touristy places and 5 star hotels, but who likes to share nice times with nice people. Since the house is not that big, the atmosphere here is very familiar and welcoming for everyone.
We have a pretty, Andalusian style main house, with a huge garden full of trees and plants, as well as a nice terrace with a view over Cogollos and Alfacar mountains. One of Granadas best climbing areas is right outside of our house and we have a rock wall in our garden, with around 20 routes at the moment. You can enjoy your morning coffee with a rock view, how amazing is that!?

Accommodation
At the moment we have two bunk bed dorms, for six people each and a private room with a double bed. We provide bedding and sheets, as well as a towel.
Facilities
We have two fully equipped community kitchens for use by our guests, as well as a large comfortable community room. And, of course, we have a lot of space for everybody in the garden, a nice terrace and patio, and a pool. In the house, as well as on the terrace, you will also have free High-Speed WiFi.
Services
We are happy to help you get around the area and book activities. For example, renting a mountain bike, booking a windsurf course, or finding a restaurant. We have many recommendations for historic Granada.
